Beach Trip - 2012

We began our annual beach trip like usual, at the waterpark in North Charleston.  We do this every year just before school starts.

Our little one was finally tall enough to participate in the carpet ride.  It was her funnest ride at the park, and we rode it over and over....

Mommy had a lot of fun, too, and enjoyed it just as much as the kids.  I think this is the first year we have as many pictures of Mommy & Daddy having fun as we do the kids!

Of course, the little one didn't like all the water splashing in her eyes, so she wore goggles for most of the time.

It was so enjoyable watching all the kids play, get along, and help each other up the obstacles.

Even Daddy had a blast riding on the big water slides!

One last parting shot before we leave the water park.  Now, off to the beach......

Daddy and our son immediately took to the waves.  They caught some great curls, or as big as they get on our side of the coast.

The little one was busy the whole time in the sand.  She was fascinated with how the water in her moat quickly disappears.  So, she was busy gathering water for her moat for about an hour.

After the beach, we decided to take a stroll along the boardwalk by the marina.  We saw beautiful condos, gorgious yachts, and an iconic lighthouse just minutes from our hotel.

The little one sang, skipped, and kept us smiling....

While the older ones found different places to pose for a picture.

It was so calm and peaceful there.  The perfect break before all the hustle & bustle of school, athletics, and fall activities.

But, we had to get back.  One last look at the marina, and time to head back home.

Most people would be in a hurry to get home, but not if your husband is a big kid himself.  We kept seeing signs for this place called "South of the Border", which is literally just south of the NC border (meaning, it's still in SC).  Some genius marketed this small town as being a stop-over point for families traveling to Florida.  And, I guess it worked.

Daddy wanted to pose with "Pedro", the patron of this Mexican roadside attraction.

The gift shops are full of sombreros, chili pepper sun glasses, and maracas.  It was so cheesy, you couldn't help but laugh, especially when you're from Texas.

The next time we have company, we'll be sure to mention this place.  Although, unless you're going along that route anyway, I wouldn't recommend it.
